Point of SaleRetail Sales Features

Vineyard2Door POS Touch Screen Register Terminals, running on a Windows operating system and using an intranet or extranet connection to the central server, will have all of the features required for retail sales order processing:

Scan and/or Input Wine and Non-Wine Merchandise to a Customer Purchase

Using a UPC scanner or by a easy-to-use product search feature, the retail sales associate can quickly and easily enter items to the customer's order.

Customer Order Processing Options

Customer orders can be processed into the system either with or without complete customer contact information. Orders can be run against a "House Account" in the case of customers making quick purchases and not interested in sharing their contact information.

Customer Lookup/ Wine Club Member Lookup

At any point in the sales transaction, the sales associate may lookup the customer's order history - both online and onsite retail orders - which allows for quick compliance checks in the case of offsite sales. The retail sales associate can also apply any wine club membership discount to current orders of current wine club members.

Live Inventory Status on Products

All of the products managed and sold through the Vineyard2Door POS Application will show current inventory counts, based on the inventory allocations made to the retail location. The system can be configured to remove or lockout products from sale that are low or out of inventory.

Credit Card Authorization

Orders placed using customer's credit card will be supported through the use of the POS register terminal's built-in credit card reader and will be authorized via the POS Application's integration with a nationally known credit-card-authorizing service provider - Authorize.NET. Order approval or rejection will be displayed and approval will be required to complete the sale.

Refunds, Returns and Exchanges

Customers may return products for refund, or have complete orders refunded through the POS register terminal. The system can be configured to support refunds and establish rules for how refunds are handled (restocking fees, credit accrued toward future purchases).

Gift Certificates/ Credit

Customers may accrue credits through refunded products or orders and may also apply Gift Certificates towards orders.

Offsite Order Processing

In addition to the processing of onsite retail orders, the POS register terminal supports the processing of offsite retails orders of wine. In the process of completing offsite orders, retail sales associates can lookup the customer's order history - both onsite and offsite orders - as well as view compliance information to prevent the winery from over-shipping wine to a customer based on state regulations.

Restaurant Related Functions

Vineyard2Door's POS system accommodates the needs of wineries operating restaurants, including open order functions, by-the-glass sales, happy hour sales periods, etc.

Register User Accounts

Vineyard2Door POS register terminals require a valid user account to login and process sales. All sales made through the register are recorded against the user account for reporting and auditing purposes.

Cash Drawer Accounting

Vineyard2Door POS registers track the cash drawer totals when the register is opened and when it is closed out for the day. These totals can be used along with the order register to determine overages/shortages on a per-register basis.

Dual Mode Operation

There are two modes of operation - single user and multi-user. For a single-user, each transaction returns to order entry screen. For multi-users, each transaction returns to the log-in screen to allow tracking of sales by associate.
